In Memory

Timothy S. Pinkston

Tim's obituary was published in Dignitymemorial.com:

"Timothy Stuart Pinkston Sr. passed away at his home in Winnemucca, Nev., on Sept. 9, 2012. He was 65.

At his request, a private memorial will be held at a later time.

Tim was born March 27, 1947, in San Jose, Calif., to William (Roy) and Bonnie Pinkston — the youngest of four children. He graduated from Westmont High in 1965, and remained in the Bay Area where he met and married his wife Deborah. Tim worked in the pharmaceutical industry in San Jose, before moving to Southern California with his wife and son Timothy Jr. (TJ).

Tim achieved his dream of becoming a law enforcement officer after swearing in as a deputy for Crook County Sheriff’s Office in Prineville, where his youngest son, Noah, was born.  He later transferred to the Prineville Police Department and rose to the rank of Captain.  Tim served as Chief of Police in Madras, then returned to Prineville to retire.  Tim and Debbie moved to her birthplace of Hopkinsville, Ky., before finally settling down with family in Winnemucca.

Tim was known for his unmatched sense of humor and fondness for the time he spent with friends and family.  He was an avid outdoorsman, constantly in search of the perfect fishing hole or hunting spot.  Tim was also a huge sports fan, accompanied often by those who shared his passion at 49ers, Giants, and Nevada Wolfpack games.  He was always up for a game of cribbage or chickenfoot.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Bonnie, and his brother, William (Bill).

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debbie; brothers, Michael and James; sons, TJ and Noah; daughters-in-law, Kelly and Shavon; grandchildren, Jaxson, Miranda, and Raelynn; and several nieces and a nephew.

‘Papa’ Tim, you will be forever cherished and dearly missed."

I met Tim Pinkston at Blackford HS.  He and his brother had good senses of humor and were fun to be around.  I think Tim may have ridden on the same bus route as I did for a while, too.  He will be missed.

I met Tim and his brother Jim at Castro Junior High in 8th grade. We rode the same bus together to Blackford before coming to Westmont. I really enjoyed hanging out with Tim, Jim, and Bill Bowers as we all lived in the same community. The four of us used to invent war games in the walnut orchard behind Bill Bowers' home in 8th and 9th grade before getting involved in sports. We last talked in 2012 about a possible reunion in 2015. So sorry to hear that he has passed.

I remember Tim (and Jim) too. Great guys. Later, after high school, I met their older brother, Mike.

I remember Tim well.  Tim and I started dating after graduation. He was a wonderfuly sensative guy.  We used to sit for hours at a coffee shop and get wired on coffee. He was there for me when my mother passed away with Lukimia.  We went to see Clint Eastwod and James Bond movies.  I was shocked to learn he had passed.
